CUSTOM DECALS

Custom decals are generally not popular with decal makers — a lot of cheap work... But we are not like this ! We try to help and please and we can do some custom work for you.

Rescalling decals in our range

We shall be pleased to rescale any decal in our range to the scale of your choice. This will be a laser print : unfortunately we cannot silk screen for one decal.

If you wish a rescale of a decal that is in our silk screen range, this is quite possible but be aware that we shall be unable to print the colours white, silver and gold. This may require additional masking for you (or possibly make the decal useless unfortunately).

As you may imagine, we do not have all the kits of the world on our shelves. So all we can offer is a rescale, not a customisation for a given kit. Thankfully, this has worked well so far.

How do we quote custom decals ? Difficult questions : a 1/72 and a 1/600 rescale require the same amount of work but one is the size of stamp ! We have tried to make fair prices.

Making an entirely custom decal

We have to be honest there : it is theoritically possible. Practically, though, this is quite difficult.

It requires a lot of time and we should ask horrendous prices. Some people do it. We don't.

Whenever we get such requests, we normally see if it is for a decal that may fit in our range. If so, we may offer a reasonnable price in exchange of a future release in our regular range. That's how we pay back our time.

If it is something we were planning or thinking of doing anyway, we let you know and won't overcharge you for something that will be cheap for all next month. We have hurried some projects in such circumstances — a blue top KLM DC-9 for example.

And finally, if none of the above applies, we check with our small team to see if anyone has some spare time. Unfortunately, not many people have spare time nowadays...
